‘’Paros-Paros’’ ditetapkan sebagai tema Pesta Kesenian Bali (PKB) 2012. Tema itu dinilai relevan dalam upaya merevitalisasi semangat kebersamaan, semangat demokrasi, nilai-nilai kerukunan dan sebagainya. Nilai paras-paros tampaknya relevan dimaknai dalam menghadapi situasi akhir-akhir ini. Dengan demikian semangat kerukunan, kebersamaan, semangat demokrasi, semangat menyama braya, terevitalisasi dan terimplementasi secara lebih nyata dalam kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara, menurut budayawan Wayan Geriya, guru besar ISI Denpasar Prof. Dr. Wayan Dibia dan pengamat budaya Madra Aryasa, Senin (26/9) saat ditemui usai rapat persiapan PKB 2012 yang membahas tentang tema paras-paros PKB XXXIV, di Kantor Disbud Bali.
Melalui hajatan seni budaya yang mengusung tema Paras-paros, diharapkan nilai-nilai tersebut lebih dapat dimaknai dalam upaya menjaga kerukunan, kebersamaan, keharmonisan dan kenyamanan. Kata Dibia, tema itu akan diupayakan tercermin dalam garapan seni. Karena itu akan dicarikan lakon-lakon yang mendukung atau mencerminkan konsep atau nilai paras-paros. Dalam konteks itu, adegan perang atau kekerasan dalam garapan seni, tentu kurang cocok dengan tema yang diusung kali ini.Karenanya, hal-hal demikian tidak perlu dihadirkan dalam garapan seni. ‘’Agar garapan seni yang ditampilkan para seniman betul-betul mencerminkan pesan paras-paros, tentu perlu ada seleksi,’’ kata Dibia. Hal yang sama disampaikan Wayan Geriya, bahwa PKB 2012 mendatang diharapkan mampu membangun kembali semangat paras-paros. Jika kini semangat itu dirasa telah mengendor, melalui panggung seni kita mencoba merevitalisasi semangat tersebut. Dengan demikian, suasana kebersamaan, suasana damai senantiasa terbangun. ‘’Seni merupakan bahasa universal yang mampu menembus sekat-sekat politik, ekonomi.Melalui seni kita mampu mengangkat harkat manusia,’’ ujar Dibia dan Geriya. Kadis Kebudayaan Bali Ketut Suastika mengatakan, rapat-rapat persiapan PKB 2012 mulai dilaksanakan, diawali dengan rapat terbatas yang membahas tema PKB.
